Thriller Flash Mob Costume Guide

For this theatrical-style performance, we’re asking parents and dancers to get creative! Think glamorous Monster High dolls meets Thriller vibes — bold neon colors, black accents, rhinestones, and ragged hems to create the ultimate Thriller Glam Look.

Girls Costume Requirements

1. Dress or Skirted Costume

2. • Must be short enough to dance in — no longer than knee length.

   • Shorts must be worn underneath.

   • Absolutely nothing restrictive.

3. No Scary Elements

4. • No blood, no masks, no gore, no “scary” costumes.

5. Required Accessories

6. • Black ripped-style rhinestone fishnets.

   • Hanging arm sleeves  for a dramatic effect.

   • All accessories must be tightly secured (nothing loose that could fall off during the performance).

7. Makeup & Hair

8. • Tons of glitter makeup

   • Black mascara & black eyeliner get creative

   • Bold red lipstick (recommended RIMMEL STAY MATTE COLOR FIRESTARTER)

   • Hair styled in a side ponytail (to the right side of the dancer’s head).

Boys Costume Guidelines

• Inspired by Michael Jackson Thriller style or a theatrical mummy look — but make it glamorous and bold!

• Add sparkle, rhinestones, or creative neon/black combinations.

• No masks, no gore, no scary elements, and nothing restrictive.

• Keep it fun, theatrical, and performance-ready!

• Accessories must be tightly secured — no loose items.

Shoes for All Dancers

• Comfortable sneakers as this is a outdoor event

• Sneakers must be tightly secured (no loose laces or slip-ons).

• No dance shoes — this is an outdoor performance in the streets.

This performance is about creativity, glam, and fun! Encourage your dancer to shine bright with their costume while following the guidelines.

This is a fun way for our dancers to perform outside of our annual recital, and we are so excited to bring our Thriller Flash Mob to life at SunsetWalk!
